My video follows the daily life of an 11-year-old girl in Uganda to create a personal and emotionally compelling narrative about the challenges of accessing education in developing countries. By focusing on a single child rather than broad statistics, I aimed to foster a deeper connection between the audience and her struggles—long walks to school, household labor, and the poor conditions of her classroom. To reinforce the seriousness of the topic, I used darker, muted tones and visuals that highlight the underfunded state of her school, emphasizing the stark contrast between her reality and the educational opportunities available in wealthier nations. The video’s storytelling approach is designed to evoke empathy, particularly among younger audiences, by making them reflect on their own privilege. At the end, I included the statistic that "52 million girls in sub-Saharan Africa are denied education" to contextualize her story within a much larger issue—showing that, despite her hardships, she is still among the “lucky” ones. Through this approach, I hope to inspire awareness and action toward improving global educational access.
